Martyr Lo Fu-hsing (1886-1914), also known as Tung-ya, was a native of Chen-ping, Kwang-tung Province. He was straightforward in nature, and good at planning. Joining the Tung Meng Hui (antecedent of the Kuomintang) in 1906, he took part in the Huang-huakang and Wu Chang Revolutions in 1911. In 1912, he came to Taiwan to lead the Anti-Japan Movement in an attempt to recover Taiwan. Unfortunately, he failed, and was arrested and sacrificed his life heroically. Before execution, he wrote his farewell: "Rather than passing away at home, in the memory of my descendants, I elect to die in Taiwan, to be always remembered by its people."
