Jacques Favre de Thierrens (1895-1973) Aviateur & Peintre. C'est un des as français de la Première Guerre mondiale. As de la Première Guerre, résistant dans la Seconde, il avait été reçu à l'Ecole des Beaux de Paris avant d'être appelé sous les drapeaux lors de la première guerre mondiale. [...] Après l'Armistice de 1918, il rentre dans les services spéciaux de l’armée. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il est officier des renseignements dans les services du Gouvernement de Vichy, mais travaille en fait pour les éléments résistants de l’armée de Vichy. [...] Après la guerre, il regagne le Gard où il commence à peindre en 1953 à l'âge de 59 ans dans sa propriété de Saint-Bonnet-du-Gard, puis expose régulèrement à partir de 1955.

[ Biographie wikipedia : Jean Paul Jacques Favre de Thierrens (1895-1973) aviateur, as de la Première Guerre mondiale, et peintre français.

As de la Première Guerre, résistant dans la Seconde, il avait été reçu à l'Ecole des Beaux de Paris avant d'être appelé sous les drapeaux lors de la première guerre mondiale. Il avait accumulé de très nombreux objets d’art. Ils seront dispersés ce jeudi novembre. C'est un des as français de la Première Guerre mondiale, crédité de six victoires homologuées (une victoire restant non homologuée), terminant la guerre avec le grade de sous-lieutenant. Après l'Armistice de 1918, il rentre dans les services spéciaux de l’armée.

Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il est officier des renseignements dans les services du Gouvernement de Vichy, mais travaille en fait pour les éléments résistants de l’armée de Vichy. Il va rejoindre la résistance Giraudiste après l’invasion de la zone sud, échappant de peu à deux reprises aux coups de filets de la Gestapo.[...]
