Austro-Hungarian War Loans of the First World War
Ӧsterreichisch-ungarischen Kriegsanleihen des ersten Weltkrieges
In the introduction to the book, the Austrian and Hungarian ambassadors wrote their views on the subject of the book, emphasizing the purpose of the book, its importance and message value. It is also stated that the book was published as a tribute to the victims on the hundredth anniversary of the First World War in 1914.
The book was published simbolically on the eve of the centenary of the First World War. On of the the worst battlefields was on the Soča front. The Soča front was the scene of the biggest conflicts in the mountain area in the history of mankind and the biggest conflict in Slovenia in general, and it claimed more than a million victims, both dead, wounded and missing. Practically all the nations of Europe, as well as the world, fought in the First World War, so we must not forget any victims from this or that side.
Of course, without sufficient financial resources, this campaign would not have been possible, and Austria-Hungary covered as much as 60 percent of all war expenses with war loans, which are discussed in the book.
The book was published in a limited edition of only 300 copies, many of them already in hands of museums, profesionals and collectors.
